Biography

Helen Grant is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice, women and equalities.

Before this appointment she served on the Justice Select Committee until 2011 and was appointed to the Conservative social justice policy group in 2006. She joined Iain Duncan Smith’s think tank the Centre for Social Justice for which she has written extensively on family policy.

Helen read law at Hull University and practiced as a family solicitor since qualifying in 1988. She set up Grants Solicitors in 1996 - focusing specifically on the problems of family breakdown.

She is the MP for Maidstone and the Weald and is married with two sons.
